A giugno a St. Louis (Usa) sarà inaugurata ufficialmente la nuova sede di Junior Chamber International. Guarda in anteprima come sarà...

During the 2004 Midyear Executive Committee Meeting (MYE), scheduled for June 16-19, the new JCI Headquarters building will be officially inaugurated. Harmonizing with the architecture of the Chesterfield area, the beautifully designed building, which will be completed within the next few months, will combine modern features with a “Mission-Inn” look.

A Generous Donation

La nuova sede di Junior Chamber InternationalLouis Sachs, a benefactor specializing in land development, helped JCI build its new headquarters in its birthplace city by donating nearly two acres of land in Chesterfield Village, a rapidly growing St. Louis community. The donation, worth nearly US$2 million, is the largest gift JCI has ever received.

Chesterfield is an upscale, prosperous and dynamic community with a population of 40,000. Situated along the high-tech corridor of Highway 40/Interstate 64, only twenty-five minutes west of downtown St. Louis, Chesterfield Village is particularly known for its lush and beautiful landscaping.

The Plans

Rod Callies, the architect engaged to lay plans for the new headquarters, designed a one-story, 10,000-square-foot edifice, with open spaces and flexibility to meet the organization’s current and future needs in the Third Millennium.

In 2002, during the Midyear Executive Committee Meeting, architect Callies presented the plans for the new Headquarters in Chesterfield. His 10,000-square feet design was well received. Callies reported the cost would be approximately $150 per square foot.

The Executive Committee assigned Past President Georges Bouverat the task of administering the construction of the new JCI Headquarters.

The Groundbreaking Ceremony

On Saturday, November 30, 2002, at the new JCI Headquarters site in Chesterfield, JCI Board of Director members, JCI Foundation Board members, and other high-ranking current, past and future JCI officers, as well as many enthusiastic members, attended the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the new JCI Headquarters building. Several Chesterfield City officials and Missouri State representatives also took part in the event.

A Building for the Future

The new JCI Headquarters building, located at 15645 Olive Boulevard, Chesterfield, MO 63017, soon to be completed, will serve members for many years to come. Thanks to its elegance and simplicity, combined with its modern features, the building will be a facility that members will be proud to call their World Headquarters.
